Screen Report 3: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

1)      Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs is a classic that can guarantee to be a favorite amongst young children everywhere. The animation of the film is one that can compare to very few at that period of time. It was very rare for animation films to have a bit of personality throughout the characters if any at all. Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs conquered personality animation throughout every character depicted. If personality animation wasn’t present in the movie, it may not have been as successful as it was since the 7 Dwarfs are each named after very specific personality traits. For example, Grumpy had the perfect grumpy expression on his face whenever he was present in the film.

2)      When choosing an article, I chose to go with an article that I thought was very special since it was realized just a day after the premiere of Snow White in 1938. The article claims that this movie was long anticipated by all of the viewers and the anticipation was well worth it. Walt Disney and his crew have exceeded expectations way beyond belief when it comes to this animated perfection. Even since the movie first came out, the audiences everywhere knew that it would be a classic. The movie is a depiction of what any child would simply dream of, with a few twists here and there. New York Times claims,” Chromatically, it is far and away the best Technicolor to date, achieving effects possible only to the cartoon, obtaining—through the multiplane camera—an effortless third dimension.”

3)      I found this article to be extremely captivating since it was a jewel from near to a century ago. Although the article is decades old, I agree with everything the author states and feel as if anybody who genuinely enjoyed the movie also agrees with this brilliant author. If you are like myself and weren’t lucky enough to be alive during this time period, you may not have many movies to compare it to besides movies from this time era. The article promises that this film is unlike any other that the audience has seen or will be seeing in the near future. This statement only supports my thoughts on this very unique and delightful film even more.

4)      If I said I enjoyed Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs that would be an understatement. Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs is personally, a movie that could be watched more than frequently and I would never get tired of it. Every time I’ve watched it, something new has come to mind or surfaced the screen. This was just the very beginning of an extraordinary career for the brilliant Walt Disney. Walt Disney set the bar extremely high for himself with this film but never came close to failure with future films. Till this day, Walt Disney is captivating the minds and hearts of children and adults everywhere.
